Knowledge Cotton Apparel produces basics in the stylish, high-quality way we’ve come to expect from a Danish label. The simple style, featuring clean patterns and muted colors, embodies the brand’s understated aesthetic. Since its founding in 1969, this family-owned company has prioritized sustainability, and since the 1980s, its clothing has been made exclusively from organic cotton. Recently, Knowledge Cotton Apparel has begun using recycled PET as filling in its jackets. It takes 25 PET bottles to make one jacket.

The focus on sustainability was a major concern for company founder Jorgen Morup right from the start. Not only should the design, comfort and durability of the products be right, but their production and all those involved should also be transparent. He wanted to know exactly where the raw materials came from and how they were grown and processed. He wanted the seamstresses and logisticians to receive fair wages. The Danish company is convinced that knowledge is power and should be shared (knowledge = knowledge). And those who share knowledge also bear responsibility. This gave rise to the guiding principle to which the company has remained true to this day: Gain knowledge. Take action. Earn respect.
