Kings Of Indigo

All products at a glance

Tony Tonnaer founded the Amsterdam-based label Kings of Indigo in 2011, believing that uncompromisingly sustainable and high-quality production of beautiful clothing is possible. Since then, the meaning of the term sustainability has changed and become more complex. Kings Of Indigo has a clear vision of being a pioneer and shaping the further development of the fashion industry with forward-looking innovations.

Materials

95% of all materials used are sustainable. One of Kings Of Indigo's declared aims is to reduce the environmental impact of the production chain to an absolute minimum. To achieve this goal, more and more recycled materials are being used. As recently as 2019, K.O.I launched a denim capsule collection made exclusively from recycled and organic materials. In 2020, Kings Of Indigo launched the first biodegradable stretch denim on the market.

Manufacture

Kings Of Indigo guarantees fair and safe working conditions at all production companies it works with. The minimum subsistence level is guaranteed at all companies. The brand attaches great importance to the shortest possible distances and will therefore no longer be producing in India from 2020. In recent years, all production steps have been optimized to reduce the environmental impact. This includes environmentally friendly bleaching methods, water recycling, the increased use of recycled materials and washing with less water, chemicals and energy.
