Renewable raw materials are agricultural and forestry raw materials of plant and animal origin that are not processed into food or animal feed, but are used for material or energy purposes. They enable a circular economy and thus the development of sustainable forms of economic activity, are largely CO2-neutral, contribute to the conservation of fossil resources such as oil, natural gas and coal and preserve biodiversity.
